test.guide in a nutshell

test.guide is a server application with a web interface for managing various aspects related to the testing and integration of complex software. It was developed specifically for use in the automotive industry and enables intuitive management, viewing, and analysis of test runs and their results via a browser. The main modules are

  • Test report management
  • Release management
  • Test infrastructure management (incl. monitoring of test resources)
  • Test execution distribution
  • Test artifact management
  • Process/Workflow automation

The application is implemented in Java and data is stored in three databases, the main database (“report database“), the monitoring database and the artifact database.

To enable monitoring of test resources in test.guide, a client called “ResourceAdapter“ is included and can be downloaded via test.guide (see download panel on the right-hand side). The client can be executed on test resource machines. In addition to monitoring features, the client enables distribution of test execution tasks, uploading of test reports, and execution of workflow automation tasks on the respective machines.
